Kingsford – a community in the making!

Only 18 months after land sales were launched, Peet’s Kingsford at Point Cook community is fast taking shape with 302 homesites sold, more than 100 homes under construction or completed, an impressive $1 million parkland and a new community partnership with Werribee Hockey Club.

Commenting on the recently agreed 12-month community sponsorship with the club, Peet Limited Managing Direcot and CEO Brendan Gore said: “Peet recognises the important role of sport in fostering successful communities and we are proud to be lending our support to the hockey club in this way.”

Werribee Hockey Club’s President, Lyn Tout, said the Club’s partnership with Kingsford had given local hockey players a great pre-season lift.

“On behalf of the Club I’d like to offer my thanks to the Kingsford community for the support it will be providing over the coming year. The additional funding will be extremely useful and means we can buy new equipment ahead of the forthcoming season,” said Lyn.

Peet funding will help Werribee Hockey Club to purchase new resources, maintain facilities and support the club’s athletes who are selected to play at state and/or national level.

Kingsford is well-situated less than 3kms from Point Cook town centre and established local services that include medical centres, schools and recreational facilities.

Playtime takes off at Kingsford
Local children can now let their imaginations quite literally take flight at Peet Limited's Kingsford at Point Cook community with the opening of a stunning new park. The brand new Kingsford Common features a 30-metre flying fox, providing the perfect launching pad for youngsters as they pretend to take to the skies like the community’s namesake, Charles Kingsford Smith. Kingsford Smith flew from Point Cook in 1929 in the first non-stop east-west flight across Australia.
The 8,014sqm park also features a climbing frame that kids will find challenging, a sports oval, picnic and barbeque facilities, and is bordered on one side by the Pethybridge Waterway – named for Tommy Pethybridge, who was Kingsford Smith’s co-pilot and mechanic on many of his aerial adventures. Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said the company had invested more than $1-million in developing Kingford’s first park. A second park is planned for the southern part of the community with construction scheduled to begin later this year. “The result is a great area of open space for the community. Kingsford has been designed with a focus on families, and Peet is pleased that local residents will be able to enjoy the Common for many years to come,” Mr Gore said.
Recently completed, the parkland is expected to become a social and recreational hub for the families already settled in at Kingsford.

New year, new home for Kingsford couple

Point Cook newlyweds Shaun and Christine Ellul have a number of New Year’s resolutions for 2012 – but top of the list is settling in to life in their new home at Kingsford.

The young couple were among the first residents to move in to Peet Limited’s Kingsford at Point Cook community in 2011 – and spent a frantic few months finalising their build, moving in and organizing a fabulous family wedding but said it had all been well worth the effort.

“We love Point Cook – it’s nice to have everything close by - it’s all very convenient.  Travel to the CBD is good too – just 25 or so minutes in non-peak hour.”

Kingsford is within easy reach of the Point Cook Town Centre, and a range of established local services, including schools and recreational facilities.

The Elluls can now also unwind in the parks and open spaces at Kingsford, with the finishing touches to landscaping in the community’s central parkland, now reaching completion.

Reduce, recycle and WIN!

Thousands of residents and purchasers in Peet communities are being encouraged to support National Recycling Week 2010 which kicks off on Monday 8 November 2010.

You can make your mark by organising a Friday File Fling at home or at the office,  joining in an Aussie Swap Party or by learning more about how to recycle right all year round. Look online at www.recyclingweek.planetark.org to find an event near you and for a raft of other information about environmentally-friendly recycling habits.

Meanwhile, the Peet team across Australia is joining in by participating in the national Friday File Fling on 12 November – recycling paper and other office materials that might otherwise be destined for the bin.

To encourage our residents across Australia to join the recycling rage this November too, residents and purchasers in Peet communities across Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland are being offered the chance to win a luxury weekend away for two at an eco-resort!*

If you’re a resident or purchaser, simply make a recycling pledge or tell us what you already do to recycle at home or in your community, for your chance to win!   Your entry can be as simple or elaborate as you please!
