The rolling green grass at Pickett Park is usually the domain of sports teams including the mighty Bullsbrook Saints Football Club.

But on Friday 18 December it will come to life as a market, a concert and an outdoor movie venue combined as Bullsbrook community groups come together to host a festive extravaganza.

According to Bullsbrook Residents and Ratepayers Association (BRRA) Vice President, Anne Janes, there really will be something for everyone at the event which focuses on family friendly activities and a distinctly local atmosphere.

“It would be great to see as many people as possible head to Pickett Park to join in the fun which is being created by some of the community’s most committed groups,” she said.

The Christmas Market, which kicks off the festivities at 3.45pm, will be hosted collaboratively by the Bullseye Youth Group, BRRA, Bullsbrook College Parents and Citizens Association, and the Bullsbrook Place team.

The Market will showcase locally made products which will be ideal for last minute gift ideas and is a great way to support local artisans.

Bullseye Youth Group and BRRA will be donating the proceeds from the Market stall registrations to the cause.

As the sun starts to set at 6.30pm the talented Swan City Choir will take to the stage for Carols by Candlelight.

Make sure you bring your outdoor chairs or a blanket so you can not only enjoy the concert but stay around to enjoy a special screening of The Polar Express from 7.30pm.

While you are welcome to bring along your own picnic, Bullsbrook College’s Parents and Citizens Association will have plenty of refreshments and tasty home-cooked meals on sale for hungry event goers.

“It is incredible to see families and friends come together to not only celebrate Christmas at this event, but the deep-sense of community that exists in Bullsbrook,” said Anne Janes.

“It is a testament to how our community has continued to flourish throughout a difficult year.”
