Christmas is coming to Kingsford

Christmas is coming to Kingsford
14 December 2022

This year, Bullsbrook’s Christmas festivities return to Brookbank Park in Kingsford for a community get-together filled with fun, food, carols and free activities.

Join us in the park from 4pm on Saturday, 17 December 2022, as we celebrate the holiday season with family, and with friends old and new.

Channel your inner Banksy at the urban art workshop, experience virtual reality with Swan Libraries, and check out the curious pedal-power of the smoothie bike with the crew from Bullsbrook Community Garden.

The line-up of free activities from 4pm also includes the Nerf Tent, photo booth, face painters, the Eco Faeries, and Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm.

Bullsbrook Dance Academy will take to the stage for performances at 4:45pm and Swan City Youth Choir will lead the community carol-singing throughout the event.

Santa is set to make an appearance at 6.15pm and there’ll be ample opportunity to find those perfect gifts at a variety of market stalls selling everything from crystals, scrunchies, skincare and candles, to homemade candy, cupcakes and dog treats.

The Bullsbrook College P&C will be firing up the barbecue, with a sausage sizzle, fairy floss, popcorn and drinks, and there’ll be an array of food trucks with more tasty treats.

At 7.30pm settle in under the stars with friends, family and neighbours for a community screening of Christmas movie favourite, Home Alone.

Working tirelessly behind the scenes to organise the Christmas celebration have been members of the Bullseye Youth Committee with support from local resident Anne Janes, the City of Swan and Kingsford.

For the budding young event managers in the Bullseye Youth Committee, getting involved in the popular community event has been an opportunity to put new skills to the test.

Paige Evans, Co-Chair of the Bullseye Youth Committee, said she’d welcomed the opportunity to lead a team.

“It’s been fun,” she says.

Fellow youth committee member Krystal Sampson said it had been rewarding to see the connections made.

“It’s also been great to see all the hard work we have put in behind the scenes be experienced and acknowledge by the community,” she said.

Adam Shephard, Managing Director of Okeland Communities, the developer of Kingsford at Bullsbrook, said it was wonderful to once again see the community come together to organise its popular Christmas celebration.

“It illustrates not just the joy and spirit of Christmas, but also the togetherness and sense of connection that being part of a community is all about,” Mr Shephard said.
