Kingsford better connected than ever
19 May 2020

Kingsford has long been billed as a well-connected address and now it’s official with the completion of the third and final stage of the $1.02 billion Northlink WA project.

The new 22km Northern Section of Tonkin Highway was officially opened on 23 April 2020, connecting Muchea to Ellenbrook as part of a non-stop transport link between Muchea and Morley.

Needless to say this major infrastructure project brings a whole host of benefits for residents of Kingsford and the wider Bullsbrook area, which is just a 10-minute drive from Muchea and makes it an attractive option for prospective purchasers of Perth land for sale

“Kingsford at Bullsbrook may be surrounded by the natural beauty of the Perth foothills, but it’s also in one of Perth’s most promising growth corridors, where connection and accessibility are big drawcards,” said Adam Shephard, Managing Director of Kingsford developer Okeland Communities.

“The opening of the new Northlink connection is a major milestone for our Kingsford community, essentially bringing Bullsbrook closer to key shopping, entertainment and employment destinations.”

Delivering more convenient access to regional hubs such as Ellenbrook, Midland and Joondalup, the new state-of-the-art transport link also delivers easier access to Perth Airport and the Perth CBD, and to commercial and industrial areas such as Malaga and Kewdale.

Not only does the new transport link bring significant benefits in terms of shorter commutes, but the new four-lane section of Tonkin Highway has also taken the majority of heavy traffic away from Great Northern Highway, improving road safety and reducing traffic congestion on local roads.

“These are all huge benefits for residents of Bullsbrook and for what will be a fast-growing Kingsford community,” Mr Shephard said.

“Local residents are now experiencing the benefits of safer and more efficient travel on the road network every day.”

Construction began in mid 2016 on Northlink WA project. Jointly funded by Federal and State Government, the project is considered a key element in guiding a stronger and more prosperous economy for WA.

The recently-opened Ellenbrook-Muchea section includes dual carriageway between Maralla Road and Muchea, interchanges at Stock Road, Neaves Road and Brand Highway, deviation at Brand Highway, a section of 4m-wide shared pathway for pedestrians and cyclists, and flyovers at Muchea South Road, railways and Ellenbrook.

Kingsford can be easily reached by taking the Neaves Road exit off Tonkin Highway towards Great Northern Highway.
