The opening date for the new Tailwinds Café in Kingsford is so close you can almost smell the coffee, taste the muffins and hear the sizzle of bacon.

And when the café doors open for the first time in the middle of October, chances are you’ll spot a couple of familiar faces behind the counter.

Mother and daughter team Penny and Paige Jacks have been busy putting the finishing touches to their new venture, ready to serve up delicious coffee, smoothies and juices, along with burgers, salads, bagels and croissants, and homemade muffins and slices.

For Penny, who moved to Bullsbrook more than 30 years ago, running her own café is a dream come true.

“When I saw the advertisement for the café, well I knew it was for me,” Penny says.

Penny will be ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes while daughter Paige looks after front of house. Both have years of hospitality experience under their belts.

“We’re very excited and looking forward to Tailwinds becoming a big part of the new Kingsford community,” Penny says.

Tailwinds Café is set to become a busy social hub as friends and families catch up over their favourite barista-made coffee, a tasty breakfast or lazy lunch.

Bringing a touch of the Swan Valley to Kingsford, the new café will feature locally grown produce and the relaxed, easy-going ambience visitors to the Valley love.

A perfect fit for Kingsford and its spectacular natural setting, the café design combines modern styling with the charm and character of Bullsbrook making the estate an attractive option for the sale of land in Perth.

Features include timber-lined ceilings, polished concrete floors, recycled bricks and slimline tiles. Glass doors open up to a deck and alfresco seating overlooking the Ki-It Monger Brook.

“It’s a very comfortable and picturesque place to sit back, enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat, relax and enjoy the view,” Penny says.

Tailwinds is also a taste of things to come at Kingsford, which will ultimately have its own town centre.

Adjacent to the Kingsford land sales office on Chittering Road, the café will be open 6am - 3pm, Tuesday to Friday and 8:30am-3pm Saturday and Sunday.
